Coronavirus update from St Gallen Townhall

The government of the Canton of St.Gallen welcomes the tightened measures of the Federal Council. For them, the protection of the population has top priority. Because the number of enquiries is increasing significantly and these concern more and more non-medical areas, the government is expanding the telephone hotline. In addition, the government is obliging day-care centres to continue operations. The government appeals to people over 65 years of age or with a previous illness: “Stay at home!”. Anyone who does not belong to a risk group should help the people concerned wherever possible, for example by shopping for them or by calling them regularly. https://www.sg.ch/news/sgch_allgemein/2020/03/gemeinsam-gegen-die-ausbreitung-des-virus.html

KidsTechWorld 8th February 2020

Welcome into 2020!

https://facebook.com/events/s/kidstechworld/2700319813355012/?ti=as

This year DigitConstruct is bringing you a fantastic opportunity to learn and think about the future.
We introduce you to the KidsTechWorld event (www.kidstechworld.com).

Our free community event brings us all together: kids, parents, and teachers, with the goal of presenting the challenges and benefits of an increasingly digitized world.

Where and how?

The Main Hall on the first floor of the Schluefweg Conference Center is where we are setting up the Exploration area for kids. Here we will experience together the most fun tools and gadgets which may soon come to your homes and classrooms.
Together on that Saturday we will discover virtual reality, programmable tools, holographic projections, 3D printing, portable science kits, app making, and even a robotics competition team will be waiting for your curiosity.
We facilitate getting close and personal with technology through hands-on practice, providing a chance to develop your own instincts towards it. We are enabling moments of increased self-confidence and pride through learning these tools.

On the Ground Floor of the Schluefweg Conference Center, we are organizing a Workshops area aimed towards parents, in order to bring a warm light on popular topics.
We invited professionals who will openly and empathically guide you through their experiences with various stories of technology use, showing us glimpses in the future too. They are coming to answer parents’ fundamental questions, such as:
What is the future of food? How are we going to feed our kids?
How can we protect our kids from online aggressions in this connected world?
And importantly, how do we help our kids develop healthy relationships with technology?
Digital Parenting comes up as a new era of learning for parents.
We create the environment where parents can safely open up on such sensitive topics.
Our speakers will be happy to share their knowledge, and we invite you to take advantage of their presence.

On the same floor, Kidpreneur takes place. This is an entrepreneurial competition for kids.
Young players are invited to bring and present their business idea to start-up experienced professionals. As a Kidpreneur, during the Ideation session your idea will be polished and challenged! You will be also evaluating your competition’s ideas. It’s a moment of learning and enjoyment while you feel the flair of competition. In the end a monetary prize will sum up the experience.

Our last dish on the menu will be served on the Stage in the Main Hall where an Open Panel Discussion session is arranged with kids, parents, and teachers. Here we make it easy for you to express yourself on your experience with KidsTechWorld.

Join us in the fun and in the future!
